Team Horse Power Visits Clarion County

On Saturday April 21st, 3 of the Team Horse Power members visited Clarion County to help some 4-H members improve their skills and develop skills they are trying to learn.  Fran, Leah, and Alexis took time from their busy weekend to come and help Lew with the presentation.  The weather was quite threatening all day, but didn't deter our efforts!  Though we all got a little wet, we didn't end up soaked.  We rode in the morning, had a nice lunch, and then worked on handling skills , under roof, in the afternoon.  All of the youth seemed to grasp some new knowledge.  Can't wait to see them again!

Weekend of April 14-15 2012

Paige Henry and Ingrid Boarts are going to be busy this weekend, starting to fulfill commitments to the Team Horse Power.  On Saturday Paige and I are heading to Fulton County, to Lori Glazier's farm.  We are going to be running an "On the Road to Horsemanship Skills" game for the Fulton County horse club members,a s well as a couple from Somerset County.  There are 19 members scheduled to participate!

On Sunday Ingrid is meeting me at the Washington County fairgrounds to assist me in conducting an Examiners training for the Horsemanship Skills level 1-2 program.  We will be working with 17 volunteers, leaders, and educators to evaluate their knowledge and to see whether they have what it takes to become and examiner.

Next weekend several of us are headed to Clarion County to help 4-H horse club members there in learning about the horsemanhsip skills program, and to assist them in skills they may not yet have mastered!  So come and help us out!
